Moorooka State School has a Guidance Officer in the school every Tuesday and Wednesday. Her name is Joanne Ambrose.
The Guidance Officers role is to enhance the education opportunities for children in the school. This is done by working directly with students and teachers, support personnel, family and other specialists/professionals.
Guidance Officer’s provide psycho-educational assessment, counselling, and referral and case management services in schools.
There is a formal referral process to access Guidance Officer services. If you have any issues, concerning your child you can speak directly to your child's class teacher who will refer your child to the support services committee. If your child is prioritised, you will be contacted by the Guidance Officer directly.
