Camp overview
At Moorooka State School, we have a comprehensive camping program, along with appropriate year level curriculum based excursions and incursions.
Excursions and incursions
Moorooka State School offers a range of excursions and incursions related to the curriculum units children are learning. This helps students connect their learning to the real world. Each year level will have 1 excursions (going out of school into the world) or incursions (bringing the world into our school) each year. You will be given advance notice of these incursions and excursions and associated costs and requirements, a month before hand.
Outdoor Camping program
Moorooka State School hold camps for varying durations in a range of settings from Year 4 to Year 6 and for different purposes.
All children are encouraged to attend year level camps, and we attempt to keep costs reasonable. Parents/carers will get 6 month notice for all camps, to ensure that you can adequately budget and prepare your child for camp.
If a child's behaviour choices are deemed to have been inappropriate during the course of a school year, the Principal reserves the right to retract an invitation to the child to participate in camps or excursions. We work with parents to consider options in an attempt to ensure each child can participate where possible.
