Each year Moorooka State School sends a team of competitors to the Sunnybank district swimming, cross country and athletics carnivals.
Successful students at the carnivals gain selection in the Sunnybank district teams and progress to the regional carnival.
Students must be turning 10-12yrs old in the year of nominating.
The process for swimming includes submitting swimming race times to the school PE Teacher. As the level is extremely competitive, it is suggested only students that have been involved with a swimming club express interest.
Students nominate themselves to the school PE Teacher, if they are interested in attending the cross country districts. Nominations are decided on ability and suitability to run cross country. Distances for cross country are 2km for students turning 10 years old and 3km for students turning 11-12 years old.
After our school athletics carnivals, students are nominated to attend districts depending on their school results. The district always sends out recommended qualifying times and distances for events, which are considered when nominating students for the district carnival.
