Students turning 10–12yrs old at Moorooka State School, have the opportunity to be nominated and attend representative school sport trials.
Students successful at district trials, go on to represent Sunnybank district at Met West regional carnivals. From there, students are able to progress to the Met West regional side, which competes at state competitions.
Process
The process is as follows:
- Nominated by Moorooka SS
- Possible selection in Sunnybank District side
- Possible selection in Met West Regional side
- Possible selection in Queensland State side.

Sports on offer usually include:
- netball
- soccer
- rugby league
- AFL
- touch football
- basketball
- softball
- rugby union
- cricket
- hockey
- golf
- tennis.
In the past, Moorooka has been very successful with students gaining representative selection. It is suggested that students have current or previous experience playing the sports they are interested in trialling for and have exceptional physical ability.
