Hi my name is Cathy Godwin and I work as the art teacher here at Moorooka State School.
This year we are exploring the potential of recycled materials in art work through making clothing and jewellery, musical instruments, creative collages, creature creation from boxes and Makedo.
Students will be preparing artwork for display in our performing arts celebration and will be yarn bombing the trees around the site as well as creating some wonderful chalk art.
The younger students will be exploring colours through a variety of mediums and art styles and creating art work that will be used to create mobiles to decorate the site. Students in the upper grades will be learning more about 3D drawing through optical illusions and drawing with 1 or/and 2 point perspective.
I hope that sometimes you can come into the art class with your child and help us out as well as enjoy doing the art.
