2014 P&C AGM

​The 2014 AGM (Annual General Meeting) will be held at the next P&C Meeting on Tuesday March 11. Meeting commences at 6.30pm in the Community Room, M Block.

At the AGM, all executive positions are vacated giving the opportunity for interested parents to apply for the positions of: president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary.

The P&C's primary role is to support the operation of the school, through fundraising initiatives and through positively promoting what is occuring in the school throughout the year. Involvement as a member of the executive team can be rewarding and fulfilling.

All roles within the P&C executive are voluntary.

While the P&C President position means needing to understand some legislation, being reponsible for managing P&C finances, and chairing the monthly P&C meetings, the key role held by this position is one of fostering good communication between the P&C, the school, and the wider community. Through actively encouraging involvement in school life, the president ensures the school's endeavours are being supported in a positive manner.

As our school has a OSHC and a tuckshop, both of which earn funds for the P&C, the P&C president is the responsible officer for ensuring both operate within Education Queensland guidelines at all times.

The role of the P&C Vice President is to support the president in their role. Often the role of the vice president is more specific to the school itself. It could be that the vice president plays a key role as the publicity officer for the school; takes on the role of marketing the school in the community; or organises the sub-commities responsible for fundraising. The position will vary according to needs.

The role of the P&C Secretary is to prepare the agenda for the monthly meeting, and then ensure each meeting is minuted. The secretary is also responsible for all correspondence with the P&C.

The P&C Treasurer has the overall responsibility for the financial management of the P&C. This primarily means ensuring that all financial operations of the P&C meet with legislation, ensuring that accurate accounts of receipting and expenditure are kept. The P&C Treasurer is also responsibile for creating an annual budget for the P&C which aligns with the needs of the school.
